Work of The Order,
Activity year 2008
In 2008, the International Knightly Order of St. George in Poland completed the following undertakings within the Order's statutory tasks:

The following were sponsored:


1. 50th Anniversary of Primary School No. 35 in £ód¼.
2. Ceremonial giving the name of the "£ód¼" Army to Primary School No. 26 in £ód¼.

Suppont program for the needy was continued in co-operation with educational establishments, under which the following were completed:

1. Meetings of Members of the Order with parents, pupils and teachers, concerning dependencies.
2. Co-operation with the Food Bank in £ód¼ was continued, more than 50 ton food was distributed in 10 schools in £ód¼.
3. Meetings with doctors were arranged in schools, who offered consultation on faulty posture, healthy nutrition, oncological threats, laryngological diseases, first aid, etc.
4. Meetings with lawyers were arranged in schools, who offered legal consultation.
5. During the City of £ód¼ Celebration Days, medical consultations were provided to dwellers of the city and region of £ód¼, concerning endocrinology, rheumatology, neurology, including free arterial blood pressure and pulse measurements.
6. During the City of £ód¼ Celebration Days, meetings with layers were arranged where dwellers of the city and region of £ód¼ were offered legal consultations concerning e.g. civil, family, inheritance, tax, administration, copyright and commercial law.
7. Members of the Order met with children from orphanages and kindergartens.

Our Society was organizer or co-organizer of the following undertakings:

1. During school holidays, holiday play schemes were organized jointly with the Municipal Police in £ód¼, for four groups including total of about 130 children from £ód¼. Nursing care was provided to the participating children.
2. Society Members offered help to Junior High School for the Deaf established by Caritas.
3. Meetings with disabled persons at the Community Centre in ul. Siedlecka, £ód¼.
4. Support for the organization of the nominal race of Municipal Police representatives to the Jasna Góra Monastery on the occasion of Mother's Day.
5. Second-hand school furniture was obtained from Sweden, for distribution among schools in the region.
6. IT equipment was obtained for schools.
7. Personal hygiene and dressing materials were obtained for the single mothers and children home in £ód¼.

In 2008, the International Knightly Order of St. George in Poland provided
financial support to the following organizations and institutions:


1. The Society "Rado¶ę æycia" in £ód¼ - co-financing of an educational project.
2. Primary School No. 35 in £ód¼ - co-financing of a winter holiday play scheme.
3. Song and Dance Group "Pździwiatry" at Primary School No. 34 in £ód¼ - financial support.
4. Primary School No. 14 in £ód¼ - co-financing of children's travel to the World Finals of the International Educational Program "Odyssey of the Mind" in the USA.
5. Primary School No. 5 in £ód¼ - co-financing of the 3rd International Olympic Games of Partner Schools 2008.
6. Waldi's Foundation "Serce na d³oni" - co-financing of the "Julianów Park" event.
7. Special Schools Complex No. 2 in £ód¼ - funding of prizes for winners in the "I Can Do It" Contest.
8. Society for the Support of Disabled Persons and Their Families "Muminki" - co-financing of holiday play schemes for disabled children.
9. Primary School No. 35 in £ód¼ - co-financing of Knightly Days organized by the school and Parents' Council.
10. Polish Society for Rehabilitation, Branch in Kutno - financial support.
11. Municipal Police in £ód¼ - financial support for the organization of the 1st Pilgrim's Race to the Jasna Góra Monastery on the occasion of Mother's Day.
12. Summer holiday play scheme organized at Primary School No. 33 in £ód¼:
- cofinancing of catering for four groups including almost 130 children;
- purchase of medical aid provisions;
- purchase of prizes for participating children;
- financing of the admission of children at a swimming pool, indoor climbing centre, Dinopark in Ko³acinek, and Experymentarium at Manufaktura in £ód¼;
- financing of other attractions for the children.
13. Primary School No. 34 in £ód¼ - financial support for the Parents' Board.
14. The B.S. Linde Secondary Grammar School No. 3 in Toruń - financial support for celebrations of the school's 60th Anniversary.
15. Canteen for the poor in £agiewniki - co-financing.
16. Primary School No. 91 in £ód¼ - co-financing of lunches for the needy pupils.
17. Primary School No. 61 in £ód¼-£agiewniki - support for the school repairs.
18. Orphanage in Grotniki - support for construction of a local sewage system.
19. Foundation for Children "Help on Time" - financial support.
20. Seniors from the parish of Wadlewo - co-financing of an excursion for the needy.
21. The Roman-Catholid Parish under the invocation of the Ascension of Our Lord in Bydgoszcz - co-financing of meals for needy children.
22. Association for Care of Blind People in Laski near Warsaw - financial support.
23. The Polish Red Cross - financial support.
24. The "Gajusz" Foundation - financial support.
25. The Foundation "Ochrona æycia poczźtego" - financial support.
26. Secondary School of Economics in £ód¼ - donation of clothes, aprons and protective shoe covers.
27. The Society of the Friends of Children £ód¼-Ba³uty - donation of clothes.
28. Single Mothers and Children's Home at the Franciscan Sisters Convent in £ód¼ - donation of clothes.

Second-hand school furniture obtained from Sweden were given to the Gmina Gorzkowice, province of Piotrków. The community suffered severely during the tornado in April 2008.

Before Christmas, our Society organized a Christmas celebration meeting for poorest children from 16 primary schools in £ód¼. Children saw a show by the Song and Dance Group "Pździwiatry", and received parcels with sweets from Santa Claus. About 320 children took part in the Christmas meeting.

Additionally, Members of the International Knightly Order of St. George in Poland offer personal support to organizations, institutions and individual persons at their place of residence, offering food, clothes and financial support.
Activity year 2007
Pursuant to the Statutes, work of our organisation in 2007 focused on broadly understood charity, namely:

Patronage was offered to:


1. Youth Community Sociotherapy Centre in £ód¼, at ul. Nawrot 46;
2. Sports Club in Mianów, gm. Lutomiersk;
3. Popular Sports Club in Byszewy gm. Nowosolna;
4. Yuvenile Reform School No. 2 in £ód¼, at ul. £ucji 12/16

Support program for the needy was implemented in co-operation with educational establishments in £ód¼ and Warsaw, under which the following items were completed:

1. Lectures to parents, students and teaching staff, concerning drug addiction, other types of addiction, and various sects;
2. In collaboration with the Municipal Police in £ód¼, our Society participated in a community prevention program for schools;
3. Food was distributed in schools, jointly with the Food Bank;
4. In schools, we arranged consultations by lawyers, doctors and psychologists who offered advice and examination;
5. Meetings with representatives of local authorities or outstanding non-member persons, and educational trips were organised;
6. Integration events were organised for children and adolescents from the district Warsaw Æoliborz, including hippotherapy, knightly tournaments, and celebrations of St. George's Day.

Our Society was organiser or co-organiser of the following projects:

1. The "Safe Way to School" campaign was conducted together with the Society "Rado¶ę innym", aimed at ensuring children's safety on roads;
2. The contest "Knightly Virtues in Former and Present Times" for children and adolescents was held, prizes for 10 participants were funded;
3. The 3rd International Youth Meeting for schools from Hungary, Lithuania, Romania and Poland was organised in Murzasichl;
4. Free legal and medical consultations for more than 200 people were provided during an event held in the "Zdrowie" sports and leisure centre in £ód¼.

Our Society provided financial support to the following charitable projects:

1. The Gajusz Foundation - purchase of medical equipment;
2. The Charitable Society "S³uchaj swego serca";
3. "Kulik's Auction" with proceeds intended for the Gajusz Foundation;
4. Polish Red Cross - "School Kits for School Children".

A school banner was funded and donated to Junior High School No. 29 in £ód¼.
In 2007, the International Knightly Order of St. George in Poland provided
financial support to the following organisations and institutions:


1. The "Praesterno" Foundation - Community Youth Centre in £ód¼, at ul. Nawrot 46 - children's holiday stay in Hungary, material support (two computers, facsimile, washing
machine, 30 school kits);
2. Primary School No. 34 in £ód¼, at ul. Ęwiklińskiej 9 - co-financing of the purchase of a "Little Anne" phantom for pre-medical aid training;
3. Independent Public Healthcare Unit, Rehabilitation Department and Laboratory in £ód¼, at ul. Sporna - co-financing of the purchase of rehabilitation equipment;
4. Primary School in Okup, gm. £ask - co-financing in equipment of Class I, donation of
stationery;
5. Polish Scouting Association (ZHP) - XIII £ód¼ Troop "Stalowa Trzynastka" - co-financing of travel to the scouting jamboree in London;
6. Special Schools Complex No. 2 in £ód¼, at ul. Karolewska 30/34 - support for the Children's Day celebration, donation of school kits;
7. The "Piccolo" Theatre in £ód¼, at ul. Burska 42 - support for projects promoting an addiction- and aggression-free lifestyle among children and adolescents from the £ód¼ voivodship;
8. Municipal Nursery School No. 151 in £ód¼, at ul. Narciarska 20/22 - co-financing of a trip of 50 children to Dinopark in Ko³acinek;
9. The Society "Rado¶ę æycia" - co-financing of a Children's Day celebration event at Gallery of £ód¼;
10. Orphanage in £ód¼, at ul. Krokusowa - co-financing of children's travel to Lake Balaton;
11. Municipal Sports and Leisure Centre in £ód¼ - financial support for a holiday play scheme for 70 children;
12. Juvenile Reform Centre No. 2 in £ód¼, at ul. £ucji 12/16 - donation of school kits;
13. Primary School No. 145 in £ód¼, at ul. Krokusowa 15/17 - donation of school kits;
14. Orphanage No. 2 in £ód¼, at ul. Aleksandrowska 137 - donation of a computer;
15. Primary School in Zadzim, gm. Zadzim - donation of school kits;
16. The Foundation "Fundacja Pomocy Dzieciom" in E³k - donation of teaching aids;
17. Caritas, Diocese of £ód¼ - donation of school articles;
18. Inhabitants of the village Nowe Ostrowy, pow. Kutno - purchase and donation of clothes and toys for children;
19. Association for Care of Blind People in Laski near Warsaw - financial support;
20. The Polish Association for the Protection of Human Life - financial support;
21. Catholic Families Association, Youth Community Centre "ARKA" - financial support;
22. Brother Albert's Foundation - financial support.

Besides, our Society organised a pre-feast meeting for children delegated from 15 £ód¼ schools, dedicated e.g. to Christmas customs; the attending children were presented Christmas gifts.
