2010.04.17 - Investiture of the Knightly Order of Saint George in Hungary
The investiture of the Grand Priory of Hungary of the Knightly Order of Saint George was held on Saturday, 17th of April 2010 in the Votive Church of Our Lady of Hungary in Szeged. More than 40 new Dames and Knights Hungary, Slovakia and Vojvodina were invested. The new Grand Priory of Slovakia was formally established, with Chevalier Frigyes Nagy as its Grand Prior. The investiture was conducted by the Grand master of the Order, HE Chev. Tadeusz Kaczor, GCStG. The Grand Priories of Poland, Kingdom of the Netherlands and Serbia were represented respectively by HE dr Andrzej Pelc, Grand Prior of Poland, Brigadier General Chev. Dr. Frank PHILIPOOM MKN / KCStG, Grand Prior of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and HE Chev. Sasa Vujko, Grand Prior of Serbia.

The Grand Master welcomed the members of the Grand Priory of Hungary and the invited guests and expressed his gratitude to the Hungarian nation for announcing the 17th of April the day of national mourning in connection with the catastrophe of the Polish Governmental Airplane in Smolensk.

The Grand Prior of Hungary, Chev. Miklós Balla, GCStG, reminded the participants of the ceremony, that "Only those could become, and also nowadays are the true knights, who without any interest of their own and unconditionally help their homeland and other people".

The special guest of the Grand Priory of Hungary was the President of Duna TV, who in his speech thanked the Hungarian members of the Order for developing and supporting the national awareness of the Hungarians living outside their homeland.
